Venezuela and China sign scientific and educational cooperation memorandum in Shenzhen

On July 30, 2025, in the city of Shenzhen, the rector of Venezuela's National University of Sciences "Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán" (UNC), Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez, signed a memorandum of understanding with representatives of UNESCO's International Center for Higher Education Innovation (UNESCO-ICHEI).

The agreement aims to strengthen Venezuela's National System of Science, Technology and Innovation, as well as the academic development of specialized institutions like UNC, through scientific and technological cooperation with Chinese institutions.

Projected areas of work include artificial intelligence, engineering, and other cutting-edge scientific disciplines. The memorandum also marks the start of a closer cooperation phase between UNC and Shenzhen University.
